no , cant really find a definitive answer on that
this is the only info i can get

Eastmoor school in Adel, Leeds, which first opened in 1857 as the Leeds Reformatory for Boys, later becoming Eastmoor Approved School.
Ghosts are believed to haunt the settlement, which lies next to the new Eastmoor Secure Unit, "In the 19th century, a child under 14 could be sent to a place like Eastmoor for begging, wandering, consorting with thieves and prostitution.
"In more modern times it became the Eastmoor approved school and housed more dangerous criminals.

Could be that it was like Imber village down here. They moved the residents outs in the last war so the army could use it for training but refused to let them move back in as they w3anted to keep it for training. Could be that the mod moved them out and didn't bother once the war finished

Nice pics. Haven't been to Eastmoor for ages, think they've been doing some clearing lately. Well, in the few years that I last visited.  I think the swimming pool building has gone now from what I hear. :(
There's some good pics on URBEX of Eastmoor.
Have you had a dig round the AA bunkers near the airport?
