ratfighter, ratbikes"Destruction til Death" CBR1000
Updated 01/11/2014
Gareth is the owner and builder of this very impressive ratfighter, but it was his wife, Jo, who originally sent in the pic to the left (unknown to Gareth at the time). We were that impressed with this beast of a bike that we contacted Jo to get some more details and pics.

Bought the bike as a streetfighter. It's a 1987 CBR 1000.chopped back end off, welded chainlink to make new seat sub-frame.

Raised tank by 3", made new chunky bars, standard wheels with mesh infills

Shortened exhaust can, changed exhaust from 4 into 1. Used ZZR belly pan. Cut down headlight fairing, replaced seat with an R6 pillion pad. Tread plate drain cover boxed frame...and still does 150!

He was keen to mention that the rebuild would not have been possible without his 2 brothers Oz and Jake and his best friend Jimmy, all of whom are mad bikers. Plus thanks to Jordan for the cheap bike.

Every year in April, (Gareth's birthday) they go off on their bikes, tents and sleeping bags to travel and camp around the Highlands. And yes, Gareth my husband, does manage to fit everything he needs either on his back or on the bike. They all have it down to a fine art now lol.

The future for the bike will include new headlights with a welding mask fairing, upside down forks and finally the smallest Speedometer he can find, before he gets stopped and done for not having one, EVER!
Jo
